Our Approach

Personalized learning, grounded in real support. At Sojorne Academy, we combine academic instruction with therapeutic and behavioral support into one cohesive experience—so your child can grow, not just cope. Our approach is informed by: ABA principles (Applied Behavior Analysis) Montessori-inspired independence and choice Functional, life skills-based education Social-emotional learning and regulation strategies Every student receives: An individualized learning and support plan Structured routines in a calm, predictable environment Support for attention, behavior, and emotional regulation Intentional opportunities to build independence and confidence We don’t separate learning from support. We integrate them.

What Makes Us Different

Small by design We intentionally serve a small group of students so each child is deeply known and supported. Structured and supportive Clear routines, transitions, and expectations create safety, focus, and consistency. Built for how your child learns We meet students where they are and help them grow from there. Focused on real-world growth We prioritize independence, communication, and confidence alongside academics.

Our Curriculum and Philosophy

Our curriculum is responsive, intentional, and built around how children actually learn. We draw from: ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) to teach skills systematically, support behavior, and track meaningful progress. We borrow from Montessori principles to encourage independence, choice, and hands-on exploration. Functional education ensurea students are learning skills they can use in everyday life, and we draw on developmental and social learning approaches to support communication, relationships, and emotional growth. The result is a learning environment that is structured, supportive, and deeply practical.

Data-backed Model + Diverse Community

Sojorne Academy is built on the foundation of Sojorne Care—a clinical organization that has supported hundreds of families across multiple states. We are parents. We are educators. We are clinicians. We understand what’s missing because we’ve lived it and built solutions around it. Sojorne Academy extends that work into a school environment so children no longer have to choose between learning and support.
